Hi Everyone,
Happy Summer fellow CJOS orchid growers! Here is Ed's Summer 2022 CJOS Newsletter.
We here at CJOS hope all of you are having a fantastic summer☀️! Temperatures have been extreme🌡️ in July and we have not had much rain 🏜️ throughout many parts of NJ (or the country/world). This time of year it is very important to keep your outdoor orchids hydrated💧(sometimes 2x daily if you don't have an automatic drip setup). The good news is that plants are in full active growth and hopefully looking great as a result of the new leaves/pseudobulbs.
Anne Skalka was gracious enough to let CJOS use her backyard for the CJOS barbeque in June. (Thank you, Anne!) The weather cooperated (no rain until the end of the party) and it was great to finally meet in person again! Check out some awesome pics below.
Just a reminder - There is no September 2022 meeting on the first Wednesday of the month (09/07). Our orchid auction is the 3rd weekend of September (09/17), so a brief Secretary report will be presented at the start, followed by the auction. Please use the form below to submit any orchids for donation (to be actioned off).
The CJOS orchid auction will be held on September 17th (2022). It will be located at the You can donate orchids to CJOS via the link below. *More details to come over the next month.

As of October 2021, CJOS will now hold In-Person and virtual Zoom meetings on a monthly basis! This decision was voted on and decided by the majority of good-standing CJOS members and the CJOS Board. We respect those that may not feel comfortable meeting in person at this time; hence the dual virtual meeting option. Please check the website and your email regularly for continued CJOS updates and Zoom links! We hope everyone is staying safe during this continued COVID-19 Pandemic!
